Inspeed’s Pole Mount Anemometer

Inspeed’s rugged and affordable three cup Pole Mount Anemometer combines a high quality, Inspeed-designed, Made In America wind speed sensor with a bicycle speedometer to accurately monitor wind speeds up to 125 mph.

Mount the wind speed sensor to your own pole or roof bracket, bring the wire in through a window or some small hole (1/8″ diameter), and stick the display on the glass, a window, or anywhere you want. Then, connect the red and black wires and voila-you’re ready to measure wind speed!  Great for folks who want to know how fast the wind is blowing without spending $350, and for sites where AC power may not be available.

The display is a bicycle speedometer, the Cateye Velo7, with a maximum speed of 125mph. Sadly the Sigma Sport MC10 (200 mph) is no longer available.  We use bicycle speedometers because they give you the biggest bang for the buck:  low cost, fast update rates, dual display of current speed along with your choice of max or average.

The wind speed sensor comes standard with a vertical metal mounting bracket and 25′ of wire.  There are plenty of options for wire length and mounting – but if you need something special, don’t hesitate to reach out to us – we will see what we can do!
